Four Day Beard w/ Landscape 9

Good Medicine + Club Car Bar Present: FOUR DAY BEARD with LANDSCAPE 9

7pm - All Ages - $5 Cover

Full bar + food menu will be available for purchase.

“Four Day beard is an Indie / Alternative rock trio from San Luis Obispo County. Four Day Beard’s music is mellow, brooding and introspective with gritty textures that give way to accessible song structures, catchy melodies and lofty chorus sections. Robert Lindsey, formerly of the San Francisco-based alternative band Gratitude, Joined Four Day Beard on bass guitar, at the start of the 2023.

Four Day Beard’s second album, Somnium, with Vinyl, CD and Digital Distribution. Somnium is a follow up to their 2016 debut self-titled album. Somnium is a nocturnal dreamscape of overdriven swirling guitars juxtaposed with soft, sweet and sometimes smokey deep vocals. With a penchant for catchy hooks and melodies, Four Day Beard delivers these unlikely elements in a collection of surprisingly accessible tunes. “Somnium represents a new chapter for us in many ways. While it isn’t a complete departure from our last album, the sound has definitely evolved, covering new sonic territory. Our new lineup is solid and we’ve settled in nicely as a three piece.” – Joe Schwab”

Landscape 9 is an indie rock band from San Luis Obispo, CA.

Jake Xerxes Fussell

Good Medicine & Club Car Bar Present: JAKE XERXES FUSSELL

8:30pm - All Ages - Tickets available now at the link below

Jake Xerxes Fussell is a singer, guitarist, and composer based in Durham, NC. His intuitive creative process often draws from traditional music and archival field recordings - incorporating elements of songs from the past into new work. He is, according to Ann Powers of NPR, "maybe the leading interpreter of American folk music right now..."

Fussell’s most recent album When I’m Called was released to critical acclaim by Fat Possum Records in the summer of 2024. The album was produced by James Elkington and features Blake Mills (guitars), Ben Whiteley (bass), and Joe Westerlund (drums), along with additional vocals from Joan Shelley and Robin Holcomb. Fussell and Elkington also wrote and recorded the music for Rebuilding, a new feature film directed by Max Walker-Silverman that is set to premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival.

“Fussell’s music often comes with complex citations; he is a folksinger in the truest sense, collecting ideas and melodies and lyrics from distant and disparate traditions, looking for the things that unite us in our humanity.” - The New Yorker

“(Fussell) is one of the great magpies of American song, collecting forgotten, tarnished gems with a folklorist’s zeal… his renditions aren’t so much cover versions as composites…” – The Guardian

Bitterwater Road returns to Club Car Bar!

“Based in San Luis Obispo County on California's beautiful Central Coast, Bitterwater Road is a country music band playing classics from the 1960s through 1990s by artists from Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson to Alan Jackson and George Strait, while also mixing in songs from contemporary artists such as Cody Jinks and Tyler Childers and a few original tunes of the band's own. The band's honky tonkin' electrified sound draws on California's proud history in country music (who needs Nashville when Bakersfield is right over the hill?) and is perfect for line dancin', Western Swing and boot scootin' of all kinds.”

Good Medicine Presents: Marty O’Reilly LIVE at Club Car Bar!

8pm - All Ages - Tickets available now at the link below

Full bar + food menu will be available for purchase

Explaining Marty O’Reilly’s music is like describing a dream. It feels familiar, but at the same time unchartered. His songs sound bluesy but not blues, folk but not folk, soulful but not soul. Marty’s voice is beautiful and unique, his lyrics stark yet lush over gritty electrified guitar, melding beautifully into genre-defying music within the vast definitions of Americana. One can hear an urgency and complexity in the songs, expressing something elemental and perhaps contradictory: love and anger, joy and pain, real and imagined.”

Marty O’Reilly crafts timeless music that’s raw, soulful, and deeply rooted in Americana. Inspired by legends like Woody Guthrie, Howlin’ Wolf, and Sister Rosetta Thorpe, his sound captivates and connects. Known for his cathartic live performances—ranging from soft and haunting to wild and electric—Marty’s songs delve into love, loss, and connection. Over years of relentless touring, he’s built a dedicated following, performing with artists like Shakey Graves and at festivals like Bottlerock. Honest and real, Marty’s music stays with you long after you hear it.”

Kareeta

Numbskull Productions + Good Medicine Presents: KAREETA

7:30pm - All Ages - Tickets available now at the link below

Kareeta rose from the swamps and southern delta heat during the uncertain Spring of 2020. Emerging as a fully formed amalgamation of the music that shaped its core, the band assembled in California and recorded their debut LP in Oakland with producer and musician Greg Loiacono (Mother Hips, Green Leaf Rustlers) at the controls. The music is an all-night drive pushing you deeper into the dial with broken characters and stories of red sky redemption silhouetting every ache.

Kareeta's second album was recorded at Spacecamp, deep in the Northern California redwoods. Greg Loiacono returns as producer, with Dave Schools joining the band on bass, Jason Reed at the board, and acclaimed songwriter Jerry Joseph sitting in as a special guest on the title track. Kareeta continues to play some of the top clubs in the West.

"Kareeta’s sophomore record, Freeway Junkie Queen is an album that anyone that listens and enjoys Widespread Panic needs to check out not because it sounds just like WSP but it certainly shares similar sensibilities. In fact, Dave Schools plays bass on the album and Jerry Joseph has a guest spot on backing vocals as well. Beyond that, the overall sound of the record drips of the Dirty South in a way that belies the band’s California roots..."

7:30pm - All Ages - $10 Cover

Full bar + food menu will be available for purchase.

“Seeded from the land of grassroots touring and fueled by junk food, gas-station pit stops, and tearing down trucker towns, here comes the sophomore album from Seattle rockers Smoker Dad. Hotdog Highway is a 10-track true rock ’n’ roll record that captures the home-baked humorous yet heartfelt essence of the six-piece band. Smoker Dad includes brothers Trevor Conway on vocals and guitar and Teagen Conway on lead guitar, with Chris King on keys and vocals, Derek Luther on bass, Adam Knowles on drums, and Chris Costalupes on pedal steel guitar. Most of the songs are about love or struggling with sobriety but they all stem from touring,” Trevor says. “It’s lonely on the road and the mind runs. Hotdog Highway is about trying to deal with that while still pulling through for the show every night. Smoker Dad is a big band and sometimes we’d be touring with seven or eight folks all in one van. We were so crammed in there, we would say ‘like hotdogs down the highway’ and it just became this continuous joke.”

Tom Coneely & Birds of Paradise

Tom Coneely & Birds of Paradise

Good Medicine + Club Car Bar Present: TOM CONEELY & BIRDS OF PARADISE

7pm - All Ages - $5 Cover

Tom Conneely & Birds of Paradise are a San Francisco based band that released their first record “Cappuccino Springs” in the fall of 2022. The band followed up with the home-recorded “Sun Child” less than a year later, and has toured throughout the west coast, from Los Angeles to Portland to Boise and many places in between, including a recent performance at Offbeat Festival in Reno. The Birds are led in collaboration between guitarist and vocalist Tom Conneely and bassist Alois Cerbu, home-recording and engineering both “Sun Child” and their forthcoming record “New Kind Palace.”

“New Kind Palace” is Tom Conneely & Birds of Paradise’s second full length album, though in many ways, it might as well be the first. The release of the “Sun Child” EP in September 2023 marked a radical shift in both substance and form, as the desire for perfection and clarity was abandoned for muddled drum machines and lyrics that dealt with the painfully obvious facets of life. “New Kind Palace” builds on the foundations of “Sun Child” - drawing on its hissy intimacy while exceeding its through line, balancing tactile analog qualities with inventive electronic elements all while retaining an impressionistic lyrical focus against the trance-like qualities reminiscent of Arthur Russell and the lo-fi melodic guitars of The Cleaners of Venus.

After a false starts in ill-fitting studios, the ten songs of “New Kind Palace” were recorded in a variety of bedrooms and makeshift spaces that belay the music’s homespun qualities and intimacy. The recording and production process was entirely one of self-discovery, as handing off the various parts of the production process, from tracking to mixing and mastering, became untenable with retaining the honesty the work required. Mostly tracked to quarter inch tape, the music that constitutes “New Kind Palace” is a testament to self-discovery and trust in one’s self, while uncovering and facing head-on the simultaneous hysteria and transcendence of our inner worlds.

"New Kind Palace" by Tom Conneely & Birds of Paradise will be released by Kestrel Records on March 21, 2025.

“With a decades-long commitment to his craft as a songwriter, Jason Eady has built a career on bringing his unique perspective to a variety of genres. Uninhibited by ties to one particular sound, Eady’s catalog showcases an affinity for telling authentic, forthright stories with his music, a quality that continues to bring new listeners to this veteran musician’s audience year after year. Born in his most recent album’s namesake state, Mississippi finds Eady inspired, motivated but not bound by the success of his past; instead, Mississippi is yet another manifestation of what Eady does best – channeling truth into songs and a refusal to be boxed in by his previous work. His newest album, however, is not a seismic shift that rebukes the past; rather, Mississippi brings to the forefront hints of deep South-style blues that has always had a place in his sound.”

graybill

Good Medicine & Club Car Bar Present: GRAYBILL

8:30pm - All Ages - Tickets available now at the link below

Full bar + food menu will be available for purchase

Often described as a fusion of artists like Jack Johnson, Iron and Wine, G. Love, Nick Drake, and Michael Franti, Graybill is the stage moniker of vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist Kevin Graybill. Though comparable to others, he's developed his own unique sound and genre sometimes referred to as "Coastal Folk" or "Ganja Blues." Deeply influenced by his direct surroundings, Graybill's sound evolved and fermented within a "musical cocoon" over many years residing in Seattle, WA before truly ripening to maturity as he spread his wings on the Central Coast of California. You can hear this story, and his influences, as you bend your ear to his music, which clearly strikes a balance between what can be described as "sunny optimism" and "rainy introspection.

Recent years have been pivotal for Graybill, first his debut album "High Tide/Low Tide" won Album of The Year for the 2021 New Times Music Awards in California, then in March 2022 he released the second single, "It's Alright," off his sophomore debut, "The Path Less Traveled," which features one of his biggest artistic influences, G. Love & Special Sauce. After beginning to record the first song off the record, Sand, in May 2021, ten tracks later, and The Path Less Traveled is finally finished and slated for a December 20, 2024 release date.

The Path Less Traveled is a journey through Graybill's own life, which includes both his personal and artistic path less traveled. The first song off of the record, "Somethin' Like This" is one of the first songs Graybill ever wrote when he was 20 years old; and the record ends with the album title track "The Path Less Traveled," which Graybill wrote recently in his late 30s. "Somethin' Like This" is a call to adventure and risk; and what might be at stake if you don't take that sharp turn off the well-trodden path into the unknown. "The Path Less Traveled" then concludes the album by reflecting on the journey taken, what did we find and learn on this path less traveled? The nine tracks in-between are pit stops along the path, exploring things like time, perseverance, love, lust, play, anxiety, regret, spirituality, depression, hope, healing, struggle, and introspection.

Though Graybill is a traditional singer/songwriter, in the sense that most of his songs all start off with just him and his guitar; the soundscape of The Path Less Traveled is quite the buffet of instrumentation, showcasing many different genres, colors, and textures. From the futuristic island yacht rock sounds of the dueling vocoder and saxophone on Crush in The Breeze; to the melancholic string arrangement on Sometimes; there's truly something for whatever mood you're in, or wherever you might be on your own path less traveled.

"Graybill's music reminds us that thinking deeply and having fun are not mutually exclusive categories. In one song, Graybill can make us smile, tap our feet, and make us ponder the universe, sometimes in a single verse! As a modern troubadour, Graybill's songs take us on journeys where we meet curious characters, lost loves, and future bar mates so that we come away with a feeling that we are all part of one big wide family destined to be together one day." -Stephen Lloyd Moffett

"It's not every day you come across an artist who invites you in with a sound that is unassumingly familiar and comforting, and then gets you to stay with raw, heart- mending lyrics that capture a deep universal desire for hope and connection. Graybill is that artist and he has opened the door... walk on in!" -Barry Johnson

7:30pm - All Ages - Tickets available now at the link below

“Sam Outlaw is a singer-song writer living in Nashville, TN. Born Samuel Morgan in South Dakota, and raised primarily inSouthern California, his stage name comes from his mother’s maiden name.In November 2021, Sam released his new full-length album, Popular Mechanics. Working as an advertising executive in his twenties, he performed small bar gigs near his home in Los Angeles starting in 2009 but kept his advertising career until 2015, when he left his corporate job to become a full-time touring musician. At age 33, Sam released his debut album Angeleno in 2015. Produced by Ry Cooder and Joachim Cooder, Angeleno introduced Sam as a distinctly assured voice in the Country and Americana scene. The album garnered awards and critical acclaim from Rolling Stone, American Songwriter, NPR and countless others. His follow-up album, Tenderheart, gave Outlaw his first foray into self-producing and further evolved his “So Cal Country” sound by introducing more elements of mainstream pop music. Also a critical success, Tenderheart was heralded as one of the year’s best country albums, supported by a full tour of North America and dozens of shows in Europe.”

“Hannah Aldridge is back and she’s celebrating the 10 Year Anniversary of her debut album “Razorwire”. This time she brings her band with her, breathing new life into the songs that started her career a decade ago. Hannah grew up on the muddy banks of Muscle Shoals—her birthright is music and Alabama. A reckoning between her coming-to-age in the South and a lifetime of trying to create an identity outside of it, her songs strike a delicate balance between rebellion and self-discovery. With a voice equal parts gritty and melodic, Hannah took to the road, entertaining crowds in ten countries and three continents with her acclaimed debut album Razor Wire, superb follow-up Gold Rush and Live in Black and White – a beautifully captured live album recorded in London, England. Her music treads a fine line between the genial charm of Americana, and the raw, hypnotic and occasionally electronic stylings of what some might like to call ‘noir indie pop’. Deploying a charming blend of power and vulnerability, Aldridge delivers her stories with all the conviction of a church bell ringing out through the streets of a small Alabama town.”

Victoria Bailey

Club Car Bar & Good Medicine Present: Victoria Bailey w/ Emilee Morrison

7pm - All Ages - $10 tickets available now at the link below

Full bar + food menu will be available for purchase

In Victoria Bailey’s songs, she carries us over an expansive emotional and musical terrain. We ride with her through the desolation of loss, over the rocky ledges of heartache, across the fields of blossoming wildflowers of new love, and along the plains of promise and new-found faith. Bailey’s vocals ring with an emotional purity that reverberates deeply. Like Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton, Bailey dwells in her songs, drawing out every note of emotion with her vocal phrasing and musical range. Like all classic bluegrass and country songs, Bailey’s songs are atmospheric, telling stories of love gone wrong or evoking the memory of a special place or celebrating the joys of a special relationship. On her new album, A Cowgirl Rides On, Bailey travels alongside Harris, Parton, Loretta Lynn, and other classics as she delivers a collection of personal, heartfelt songs that resonate universally. Awash in pedal steel, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, and guitar, the songs on A Cowgirl Rides On create an openness into which Bailey enters with her intimate vocals. “I feel like each song has a little piece of me,” reflects Bailey. “I wanted the record to feel like I sound live.” With this in mind, she and producer Brian Whelan, who also co-wrote some of the songs, recorded the songs live.

Melodious Funk

Good Medicine & Club Car Bar Present: SLO County’s own Melodious Funk!

7pm - All Ages - $5 cover at door

“Looking for something different? There are many wonderful musical genres but unfortunately an oversupply of similar artists. Meanwhile, audience demand persists for a more expansive musical pallet, including classic jazz and funky fusion. That’s what Melodious Funk is all about - playing cool tunes with a high degree of musicianship. It adds up to good times with unique and serious fun.”
